Meet the Doctors : Edward McGowan Hedgpeth, Jr.

Edward McGowan Hedgpeth, Jr., M.D. received his undergraduate degree from Davidson College, Davidson, NC. He received his medical degree from The University of North Carolina School of Medicine, Chapel Hill, NC in 1962. He did his Residency at The New York Hospital – Cornell Medical Center, New York, New York. Following this, he was a Heed Ophthalmic Fellow at Bellevue Hospital, New York, New York: at the Wilmer Institute, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, Maryland: and then the Children’s Hospital of the District of Columbia, Washington, DC. Dr. Hedgpeth has practiced general ophthalmology at North Carolina Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat, (formerly McPherson Hospital), since 1969. He particularly enjoys the mountains and playing golf, as well as spending time with his family.
