Audiology : Hearing and Balance Testing

Hearing loss is a medical problem and should be evaluated by individuals who have been academically and clinically trained to perform such evaluations.

At North Carolina Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat your hearing tests will be performed by one of our six audiologists who have all had a minimum of seven years of academic and clinical training.

Hearing testing is painless and non-invasive. The results of the test will be given to you immediately by the audiologist who performs the test. If you are seeing one of the Ear, Nose and Throat physicians on the same day, they will also review the tests with you.

You should consider calling for an evaluation if you experience any of the following symptoms:

  1. Difficulty hearing or understanding voices
  2. Complaints from others that you have the radio or television too loud
  3. Ringing or noises in your ears or head
  4. Difficulty hearing on the telephone
  5. Pain or fullness in your ears
  6. Dizziness or a feeling of being off balance

Having your hearing tested is painless.

If you are not sure about the need for a hearing test contact consult an NCEET.

We accept and bill most insurance plans for hearing tests. Most insurance plans will pay for medically necessary hearing tests. Call or contact us by e-mail and we will be glad to discuss our fees. We will also be happy to tell you if we accept your insurance coverage.
