Meet the Audiologists : Bridget A. Novey

Bridget A. Novey, AuD, CCC-A, is a clinical audiologist who specializes in pediatric patients. She received her BS in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Syracuse University. Furthering her education, Dr. Novey received her Master's degree in Audiology as well as her Doctor of Audiology degree (AuD) from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Novey is board certified by the American Speech Language Hearing Association, and licensed by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists, and the North Carolina State Hearing Aid Dealers and Fitters Board and is a member of the American Academy of Audiology. Dr. Novey did her clinical training at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh before moving to North Carolina to work at Duke University Medical Center. She welcomes patients of all ages, but specializes in pediatric patients as young as newborn infants. Her primary interests are the following: pediatric diagnostics and hearing aids, auditory brainstem response testing, auditory processing disorders, and newborn hearing screen. She has presented on Distortion Product Otoacoustic Emissions in Premature Infants at the American Academy of Audiology conference and lectured on the importance of early identification and management of hearing loss at a conference sponsored by the Southwestern Speech and Hearing Association of Pennsylvania.
